e-commerce…

It’s Not Just for Retailers Anymore

INTRODUCING PLAN “E”

E-commerce is a great contingency plan for your business. Using the power of the internet, many service businesses can generate an additional income stream by making your services available to access online. You never know when a natural disaster can cause you to lose your place of business and the resulting income.

With some “out-of-the-box” thinking, small businesses can discover how to be proactive to generate income through complimentary products or services.

Check out these examples of how various service industries can add e-Commerce to their business plans.

Be pro-active by setting up training classes online to educate other stylists on upcoming trends or consider selling your products online. Or set up workshops to teach upcoming stylists how to design a shop. All this will show your customers that you are a leader in your industry.

Consider using e-commerce to host a course to educate people on home buying. Charge for the webinar or create several small webinars covering different home buying topics and charge a lesser fee to get your valuable information. This is also a great marketing tool to show your expertise.

E-Commerce for Products

Of course, products sold online as well as in your brick and mortar store will provide an additional source of income. Many business ignore this option for selling their products. Some will use Facebook to sell their products. But there are definite limitations to this:

    • Facebook is a social media platform, not a website.
    • You have limited control over the layout and design and the content of your page. Facebook’s terms of service can change, and your page could be removed at any time.
    • You may not be able to collect email addresses or other personal information directly on your Facebook Page.
    • Facebook Pages are not designed for e-commerce.

Think of your Facebook Page as a tool to build your brand, engage with your audience, and drive traffic to your website, not as a replacement for your website itself.

      E-COMMERCE TESTIMONIALS

Jillian and Charles did a complete rebuild on my aging e-commerce website.  Wow, what a difference.  They did an amazing job capturing the feel I was looking for and taking it to the next level.  My entire business depends on my website and our customers are finding it much easier to navigate to the items they are looking for and the checkout process is so much easier.  Jillian listened to what I needed and had some great suggestions on features I never even thought about.  It’s well worth your time to talk to Jillian and Charles if you’re looking for an upgrade for your site.
